This + Tinker = Win By JayDee Make a blue deck with this card, Lightning greaves, and Tinker. My friends wont even let me play it anymore lol. Add a few Counter spells and a Tularian Acadamy just to seal the victory and this card becomes the cornerstone to your unbeatable deck.

It’s a “colossus” all right! By Eryk Jalowy Although I love this card, its actual usefulness in Standard format Magic is probably closer to a 3/5. His mana cost is MASSIVE but if you can pull it off, it pays off. You can exile him if he isn’t hexproofed by another card, otherwise, he’s always waiting in your library. You’re probably not going to be able to play him unless you’ve got some heavy mana progression going, or with a simple Quicksilver Amulet. He runs great in a specialized Golem deck along with various Splicers, a Precursor Golem if he needs some friends, and cover your butt with Asceticism… then there’s not too much the opponent can do at that point except sit back and count damage. This monster will win the game with ONE swing if the opponent doesn’t throw everything they have at him — 11 power with Infect and Trample! Slap him with an Unblockable effect for more fun. He’s immune even to Tower of Calamities, but watch out for other Infect creatures coming at him. Also, as the most mana-expensive Standard legal card around right now (with 2011 and Zendikar’s Eldrazi on the way out and Innistrad not quite here yet), he opens up some nice side-combos even if he’s not in your deck as a finisher. This is Darksteeel Colossus getting dirty!

Spliced Bread By Gaelen Karol This card can be the game win of your deck. Make it the only artifact in your deck and load your deck with Splicers and 4 Shape Anews. Play a Splicer and get a golem token. Play Shape Anew, throw out the token and bring the first artifact in your library out to play. What’s that? There’s only one in your deck? Which one is it? Blightsteel Colossus. He’s now out for four mana whether you drew him or not. And that’s the next best thing since sliced bread.
